Sega is turning up the volume ahead of the launch of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. The publisher has shared a special preview video that highlights several energetic tracks from the game’s official soundtrack.
The showcase isn’t just about the music—you’ll also catch glimpses of the colorful racetracks where all the chaos takes place. To spice things up even further, the entire mix has been put together by Kanon Oguni, giving fans a seamless audio-visual ride before the game even drops.
Crossworlds isn’t your typical kart racer. This time, players can race with both karts and hoverboards, zipping through multiple dimensions using “Travel Rings,” which act like portals between wild new racing environments. Expect high-speed action, tricky shortcuts, and plenty of Sonic’s trademark flair.
The wait won’t be too long either. Sonic Racing: Crossworlds launches on September 25 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Sega has also confirmed the game will hit the upcoming Switch 2 sometime during the holiday season.
So, if the soundtrack preview is anything to go by, fans can expect not just fast racing, but a soundtrack that keeps the adrenaline pumping all the way to the finish line.

I’m always a Sonic fanboi over Mario but I have to say it looks like a more lifeless version of Mario Kart World for Switch 2, and the gameplay shown doesn’t capture the speed that I want to feel in a Sonic game of any kind. As for the music, there were some great parts especially when it harkened back to 16-bit music. But what do I know, I think a) Sonic R on Saturn was awesome and b) Sonic R had one of the greatest soundtracks in gaming history!!
Overall, if I were told “this video is a basic version of how the game is going to be”, I’d be more excited, but I don’t get the energy and vibes that I feel I should. It looks alright, if it were on a big sale discount I would consider it, but neither the gameplay nor the music leave me wanting more. Much love x
