Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have announced that the second season of Battlefield 6, including content for Battlefield: RedSec, has been officially delayed.
Season two was originally planned to launch on January 21, but will now begin on February 17, pushing the new content back by nearly a month. According to the developers, the delay is meant to give the team extra time to respond to player feedback and further polish the upcoming season.
“We want to take additional time to refine season two and implement feedback from the community,” the studios explained in a short statement.
Season One Extended With Extra Content
Because of the delay, season one will be extended. An update is scheduled to release on January 20, bringing new weekly challenges, a special bonus progression path, and an extended season one battle pass.
The bonus path allows players to unlock additional customization items as well as XP boosts, giving active players more incentives while waiting for the next season to arrive.
Strong Multiplayer Keeps Players Engaged
Battlefield 6 continues to be praised mainly for its multiplayer experience. While the single-player campaign received mixed reactions, the game’s large-scale battles, intense action, and signature destruction remain major highlights for many players.
Battlefield 6 and Battlefield: RedSec are available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Delays are never ideal, but if extra development time leads to a more polished Season 2, it could be worth the wait. Battlefield 6’s multiplayer foundation is strong, and Season 2 has the potential to build on that momentum.
